Decodable Stages tab

In the Set up Decodable Reader Tool dialog box, use this tab to add, reorder, remove and configure stages.

Add a stage

  1. In the left pane, click Add Stage.

  2. Configure that stage.

Configure a stage

  • If We are using lists of allowed words to define stages is selected (),
    see Allowed Words Lists.

  • If We are using letters with sight words to define stages is selected (),
    do these steps:

    1. In the left pane, click the stage you want to configure.

    2. In the right pane, do these steps:

      • In the New Sight Words box, type or paste sight words that you want to introduce in this stage. Separate the words with spaces.

      • Add letters that you want to introduce in this stage.

      • Review the set of matching words.

Reorder levels

  1. In the left pane, click and drag the stage you want to move. Release the mouse button when it is in the desired order.

  2. Repeat until all the stages are in the desired order.

Remove a stage

  1. In the left pane, click the stage you want to remove.

  2. Click the Remove Stage link.

The stage is removed.

  • You can set the minimum font size for letters and words that appear in the tool box and its related dialog boxes. In the Boom Making tab of the Settings dialog box, click Special Script Settings for the language and then use the Font size when displayed in tools control.
